(Definition and Meaning
Ideology) - The ideology comes from the idea (UK), which means the idea,
understanding. Greek verb oida = know, look with favor. Idea word derived from
the Greek word logos, which means knowledge.
So ideology has meaning ideas knowledge of, knowledge of
the ideas, the science of ideas or teachings about basic notions. In terms of
day-to-day according to Kaelan "ideaĆ¢ €" meaning equated with ideals.
In a sense there is a
development ideology expressed by some experts. The term ideology was first
proposed by a French Destutt de Tracy in 1796. According to Tracy ideology of
"science of ideas", a program which is expected to bring institutional
changes in French society.
Karl Marx defines
ideology as a way of life that was developed based kepenti-ngan particular
social group or class in the political or socioeconomic. Gunawan Setiardjo
argued that ideology is a set of ideas about human rights and the whole reality
of guiding and life goals.
Ramlan Surbakti suggests
there are two senses of ideology is ideology ideology functionally and
structurally. Ideology is functionally defined set of ideas about the common
good of society and the state or who is considered the most good. Ideology is
functionally classified into two types, namely doctrinaire ideology and
pragmatic ideology.
Doctrinaire ideology
when the teachings contained in the ideology that systematically formulated,
and implementation is closely monitored by party officials or government
officials. For example is communism. While pragmatic ideology, if the teachings
contained in the ideology is not formulated in a systematic and detailed, but
formulated in general just principles, and ideology that are functionally
socialized through family life, educational system, economic system, religion
and life the political system.
The ideology that
pragmatic implementation is not supervised by party officers or government
officials but by setting institutionalization (Internalization), for example,
individualism or liberalism. Ideology is structurally defined as a system of
justification, such as the ideas and political formulas of all policies and
measures taken by the authorities.
Thus in general it can
be concluded that ideology is a collection of ideas, ideas, beliefs thorough
and systematic, involving various fields of human life.
Notonegoro as quoted by
Kaelan argued, that the ideology of the state in terms of the ideals of the
country or ideals that became the basis for a state system for all the people
and the nation in question is essentially the principle kerokhanian which among
other things is characterized by:
1) Having the highest
degree as the value of life and the state of nationality;
2) Realizing a principle
kerokhanian, worldview, a way of life, living grip being maintained, developed,
practiced, preserved to the next generation, championed and sustained by the
willingness to make sacrifices.
Ideology is a reflection
of the way of thinking of people or communities that once formed the person or
the community toward its goals. Ideology is something that is internalized into
a conviction. Ideology is an obvious choice to bring a commitment (engagement)
to make it happen. The more deeply one's ideological consciousness, then the
higher the commitment to implement them.
That commitment is
reflected in the attitude of someone who believes in its ideology as a binding
provision, which must be adhered to in his life, both in private life or in
society. Ideology cored set of values that is comprehensive and in-depth
owned and held by a person or a community as insight or views of their lives.
Through a series of
values that they know how most good, namely the moral or normative considered
correct and fair, in attitude and act to preserve, maintain, establish earthly
life along with various dimensions. Such understanding could also be developed
for the wider community, ie the community of nations.
